Abecederia by Blexbolex
Edited and published by NoBrow, the English language release of Paris-based illustrator Blexbolex’s uncanny graphic tale ‘Abecederia’ was printed and finshed at Calverts this week.
An alphabet book trapped in a detective story, 'Abecederia' is the twisted tale of two bank robbers on the run from the law (and from A to Z), who are forced into the depths of the jungles of Katagonia to a mysterious penal colony.
The book is designed and printed in three pantone colours, and employs tintlaying and overprinting technques to create an extraordinary palette and colour space. In our view, it's the best example of imaginative design using spot colours since ... NoBrow # 1: Gods and Monsters.
