Design and print affect the environment. Calverts has therefore implemented an environmental management system to the requirements of ISO 14001 to reduce our negative environmental impacts.

We are committed to comply with or exceed the requirements of environmental legislation and other environmental initiatives to which we subscribe. We are also committed to the prevention of pollution and continual improvement.

Our objectives are to:

1) Reduce our carbon emissions

2) Reduce the impact of paper use on natural resources

Giclee printing; used by artists, galleries, photographers and art publishers is the process of printing high quality digital images on premium papers using long-lasting inks. For limited editions it's perfect, beautiful and relatively cheap per edition. The problem lies in the multiples. When each edition costs the same it can be expensive to reproduce more than a handful of copies.

Great Thinkers is a series of mono artworks digitally printed at Calverts on fine cotton paper for client Make Happy. We reproduced 120 editions of exceptional quality at a fraction of the cost of giclee printing. Digital printing won't work for all artworks, however the savings are such that it's got to be worth a test proof. Get in touch to try it out.
