Great recycled and FSC® papers from Tullis Russell
Like Calverts, Tullis Russell is an employee owned company. Based in Markinch, Fife, it is one of the last independent UK papermakers, and a firm with a remarkable history.
TR aims for nothing less than a durable, sustainable future for UK papermaking. They make a range of high quality FSC® certified and recycled papers for high quality print and packaging applications, including Trucard 50:50, Think 4 and Revive 100 Uncoated - all favourite papers of Calverts for quality andenvironmental impacts.
Sion and Oz from Calverts recently took six London-based designers and print buyers on a two-day mill visit, hosted by TR's Nick Shepherd. We are all trying to change the way people think about sustainable print, design and paper - Sophie Thomas from Thomas Matthews, design journalist and publisher Anna Gerber, Luke Nicholson of More Associates, Octavia Reeve from the RCA, Caroline Clark of Three Trees Don't Make a Forest (she also runs the Lovely as a Tree website), and Nat Hunter from Airside had an extraodinarily useful, enjoyable and productive trip. We came away with a better understanding of the papermaking industry and the issues it faces, but also had the opportunity to debate pathways to a sustainable future for the print design, printing and paper trades. http://www.tullis-russell.co.uk/papermakers/
